Preparation

After receiving the registration, your employees will be invited to participate in the course on the same (working) day, both by email and post.

About 2 weeks before the start of the first lesson day, your employees will receive more information about the course by email.

On the first lesson day, the course materials, including the SVH Mentor in the Hospitality Industry theory book, will be handed out to your employees by the trainer. The cost for the SVH theory book (€ 60) is included in the total costs.

Course duration

The SVH Mentor Course consists of 3 lesson days, including the SVH exam.

The first lesson day is from 09:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The second lesson day takes place two weeks later from 09:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The third lesson day takes place two weeks after the second lesson day from 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by the SVH Mentor in the Hospitality Industry exam from 12:30 PM to 5:00 PM.

During the first lesson day, the focus is on writing the portfolio (exam component 1) and Coaching & Mentoring (exam component 2). After the first lesson day, your employees are assigned the task of writing the portfolio as homework (4 - 7 homework hours). The portfolio can be sent to the trainer for review, and your employees will receive feedback.

During the second lesson day, the focus is on Coaching & Mentoring and the theory (exam component 3). After the second lesson day, your employees have another two weeks to prepare for the practical Coaching & Mentoring exam and the theory exam (6 - 8 homework hours).

In addition to the SVH Mentor theory book, they have access to the online SVH Mentor practice exams to prepare for the theory exam.

During the third lesson day, the final details are addressed, and your employees have the opportunity to practice the Coaching & Mentoring exam component again under the trainer's guidance and clarify any theory questions.

The tuition fee (€ 595) is included in the total costs.

All important aspects of Mentorship are covered during the course. Course topics include (but are not limited to):

Recruiting and selecting new students
Training and mentoring students
Coaching and evaluating students
Various communication techniques
Giving and receiving feedback
Continuing development as a Mentor

SVH exam

The SVH Mentor in the Hospitality exam takes place on the third lesson day from 12:30 PM to (at the latest) 5:00 AM. The SVH exam consists of three components:

Portfolio
Coaching & Mentoring
Theory

When your employees pass all components, they receive the SVH Mentor in the Hospitality Diploma.

The SVH exam fee (€ 400) is included in the total costs.

Course locations

The SVH Mentor Course is organized at 5 locations in the Netherlands. All course locations are hotels or conference centers where your employees are well taken care of with coffee, tea, soft drinks, and an extensive lunch buffet.

These arrangement costs (€ 70 per day) are included in the total costs.
